The challenge
True Precision Engineering needed a website that could speak directly to technical buyers, listing exact machine capabilities and tolerances clearly, while reflecting the accreditation and decades of experience behind the business.
They needed an online presence largely because their competitors already had one. Without a website of their own, they were effectively invisible next to other precision engineering suppliers that potential customers could find and compare with a simple search.
What we built
Engineering and manufacturing clients research suppliers differently to consumers, often checking credentials, capabilities, and accreditations carefully before making contact. We built True Precision Engineering a WordPress website that showcased their experience and services, designed around that reality:
- Their ISO 9001 accreditation and over 50 years of experience featured prominently, so technical buyers could quickly confirm credibility
- Clear information on capabilities and the type of work undertaken
- A detailed plant list covering turning, milling, grinding, fabrication and assembly, so engineers and buyers could assess fit before making an enquiry
- A professional, credible tone suited to a B2B audience evaluating a potential supplier, rather than a consumer facing sales style
The result
Since launching, the website has been bringing in up to 3 enquiries a month, a healthy figure for a specialist B2B engineering supplier where enquiry volume is naturally lower and more considered than in consumer facing trades. Almost half of all website traffic now comes from Google search, showing the site is being found by exactly the kind of technical buyers it was built for.
As Robert Musgrove of True Precision Engineering put it:
"Great service, I would recommend. A customer first attitude met every requirement we ask for and more."
Why this approach works for engineering and manufacturing businesses
True Precision Engineering reflects a pattern common across B2B and technical trades: the website's job isn't to persuade with emotional appeal, it's to clearly and credibly demonstrate capability to a more considered, research driven buyer. Accreditations, clear capability information, and a professional tone tend to matter more here than the visual flourishes that work well for consumer facing businesses.
